Welcome to Sanatya ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") explain the rules for using our website (sanatya.org) and our coaching, breathwork, retreat, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Sanatya.
You must be at least 18 years old to use our Services. By using Sanatya, you represent that you meet this requirement.
Sanatya provides personal-development and wellness Services, including 1:1 coaching, group containers, breathwork facilitation, and retreats led by Michael Pupiales (and, for couples retreats, his wife as co-facilitator). These are educational and developmental in nature.
Sanatya is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or psychiatric care. Michael Pupiales is not a licensed therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, or medical doctor. Nothing shared during sessions, retreats, or on this website constitutes medical, psychological, psychiatric, or legal advice.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, medical condition, or psychiatric concern, please consult a qualified healthcare professional. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
Breathwork, ceremony, and retreat practices can involve physical, emotional, and psychological intensity. Some practices are not appropriate for everyone, particularly those with certain cardiovascular conditions, recent surgeries, pregnancy, epilepsy, or specific psychiatric histories.
By participating in our Services, you agree:
To disclose any relevant medical, psychological, or psychiatric history during the intake or application process
To consult your own healthcare provider before participating if you have any concerns about your fitness to participate
That your participation is voluntary, and that you assume the risks inherent in this kind of work
That you will follow facilitator guidance during sessions and retreats and will inform a facilitator immediately if you experience distress
Sanatya reserves the right to decline or end participation at any time if we believe a participant's health or safety, or that of others, would be at risk.
You agree not to use Sanatya for any illegal, harmful, or abusive purpose. This includes but is not limited to:
Attempting to hack, disrupt, or reverse-engineer our website or systems
Uploading malicious code or spam
Violating the intellectual property or privacy rights of others
Misrepresenting your identity or affiliation
Engaging in fraudulent or misleading activity
Disrupting sessions, retreats, or group containers
We reserve the right to remove content, restrict access, or terminate your participation if we determine you have violated these guidelines.
Group containers and retreats depend on participant confidentiality. By joining, you agree:
Not to share, repeat, or publish the personal stories, identities, or disclosures of other participants outside the group
To respect the privacy and dignity of fellow participants during and after the experience
That recording, photographing, or filming sessions or other participants is not permitted without explicit consent
Sanatya facilitators are likewise committed to participant confidentiality, except where disclosure is required by law (for example, to prevent imminent harm).
Certain Services require payment. Fees, deposits, and payment schedules are communicated at the time of booking. Payments are processed by trusted third-party processors (such as Stripe and PayPal). Sanatya does not store full credit card details.
Coaching and group containers: Recurring payments continue until you cancel in accordance with the cancellation terms communicated at signup. Payments already made are generally non-refundable.
Retreats and immersive events: Retreat deposits and payments are subject to a separate cancellation and refund policy provided at booking. Retreat spots are limited, and deposits are typically non-refundable to reserve a place.
Donations: Donations made via the website are voluntary, are not tax-deductible, and are non-refundable.
If you have questions about a specific payment or refund, please contact us before booking.
All content, materials, recordings, teachings, branding, and code made available by Sanatya are owned by Sanatya or licensed to it. You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, or modify any part of our website, recordings, materials, or session content without prior written permission.
You retain ownership of content you provide (for example, intake responses, session contributions). You grant Sanatya a limited license to use that content as needed to deliver the Services to you.
Our Services integrate with or link to third-party tools and websites. Including Trade Hive, scheduling platforms, payment processors, video conferencing (Zoom), and external resources. We do not control or endorse them and are not responsible for their content, terms, or practices. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Sanatya provides its Services "as is" and "as available." We make no guarantees about specific outcomes, results, or experiences from coaching, breathwork, retreats, or any of our Services. Personal-development work is highly individual; results vary and cannot be promised.
We make no guarantees that the website or digital Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sanatya, Michael Pupiales, his co-facilitators, and his affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, data, goodwill, or emotional distress — arising from your use of the Services.
Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to Sanatya in the twelve months preceding the claim.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Sanatya, Michael Pupiales, and his affiliates and co-facilitators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of our Services or your violation of these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in harmful activity. You may end your participation in Services at any time, subject to the payment and refund terms above.
Upon termination, your right to use the Services ends immediately. Provisions that by nature should survive, including health and safety, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification, will remain in effect.
These Terms are governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes will be handled exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Coconino County, Arizona.
Before pursuing formal legal action, both parties agree to attempt to resolve any dispute in good faith through direct communication.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version with a new "Last Updated" date. For significant changes, we will notify users by email or a prominent notice on the website. Your continued use of Sanatya after any change means you accept the revised Terms.
